Not ruling out the  possibility of his party supporting the TRS in case the pink party falls short of numbers to form the government in T-state, BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu has said that they would decide on the issue only after TRS exhausts all its options.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Venkaiah Naidu stated there is a possibility of hung assembly in Telangana as no party was in a position to get the desired numbers. ‘’As per our calculations Telangana is all set to witness a hung verdict,’’ he remarked.

On his party supporting TRS in the event of hung Assembly, the senior BJP leader said that the pink party leadership is keen on  taking the support of the Congress to form the government in Telangana. ‘’Let TRS  exhaust all its options. If it still needs our support we will look into it,’’ he said.

Venkaiah Naidu said that the trend in local bodies poll results would continue and Lok Sabha and assembly poll results would be on those lines only. ‘’Our observation is that the results of Lok Sabha and assembly polls will be similar to local bodies and TDP-BJP alliance would form the government in Seemandhra,’’ he claimed.

He said that though there is a tough fight in Seemandhra but ultimately TDP-BJP would emerge victorious and would form the first government in the state. ‘’Though we are not so hopeful of doing well in assembly polls in Telangana but going by the trend we are expecting to do well in Lok Sabha,’’ he said.

‘ab ki baar modi sarkar, no compromise’

Venkaiah Naidu made it clear that under any circumstances the party would not compromise on Narendra Modi’s candidature for the prime minister’s post. “Modi is our party’s prime ministerial candidate and whatsoever happen we would not change our decision. We are ready for post-poll alliances but there will not be any compromise on party’s prime ministerial candidate. We will not accept any pre-condition for alliance,’’ he asserted.

He claimed that NDA is set to get over 300 seats and form the government comfortably.

‘’We will not need anyone’s help to form the government. And if anyone want to join us we will discuss it in the party forum,’’ he remarked.

On the role of party senior leaders LK Advani and Sushma Swaraj in Modi’s government, Venkaiah said: ‘’Why this hurry. Wait and watch,’’ he quipped.

Replying to a question, Naidu said that the party has not started the selection of cabinet members.
