The issue of the Congress Government at the Centre, under former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, seeking help, advice and active support of the UK in conceiving and planning the Bluestar operation on the Golden Temple dominated the proceedings of the Core Committee meeting of the Shiromani Akali Dal here on Monday.

The meeting, presided over by SAD chief Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal, decided that the SAD Members of Parliament will raise the issue of the Congress Government at the Centre seeking the help of the UK during the disastrous Operation Bluestar on the  holiest of Holy Sikh shrines, Akal Takhat Sahib, in June 1984.

The party will demand full details on the nature, extent and kind of help sought and received.

It will also demand that the country be told why the government went so overboard in seeking international support to persecute, kill and humiliate its own people.
