Hartal: Train Services Disrupted

Train services across the State, particularly on the Howrah-Chennai route, were affected on Tuesday due to hartal with about 20 express and five local passenger trains being forced to be controlled at different stations.

Around 11 trains were also cancelled on account of the agitation and rail rokos staged by Congress workers at different parts of the State.

The Palasa Cuttack passenger had to be short terminated at Balugaon along with the Angul Puri passenger at Talcher. The Bhubaneswar-Bolangir Inter City Express had also been short terminated at Sambalpur.

The Visakhapatnam-Amritsar Hirakud Express, Puri-LTT Express, Mysore-Howrah Express, Puri-Bansapani and Paradeep Express, Hyderabad-Howrah East Coast Express, Nagercoil-Shalimar Gurudev Express, Bhubaneswar-Bolangir Inter City Express, Puri-Howrah Satabdi Express, Bhubaneswar-Howrah Jan Satabdi Express, Jagadalpur-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express, Ahmedabad-Puri Express, Tirupati-Bhubaneswar Express, Secunderabad-Howrah Falaknuma Express, Yesvantpur-Howrah Duronto Express, Tirupati-Puri Express, Durg-Puri Express, Howrah-Chennai Mail, Muzafarpur-Yesvantpur Express including five local passenger trains over East Coast Railway jurisdiction were stranded enroute during the hartal.
