Wholesale Ganja Dealers Nabbed

The Fort Police on Wednesday arrested two wholesale dealers of ganja, including a minor, from the city. The arrested have been identified as Naseer, 31, of Karimadom Colony and his helper, a student.

The police said that the two were under police surveillance for the last few days. Collection of the details regarding ganja lobbies and other dealers is in progress. “More arrests will take place in the coming days,” said an official.

Chain-snatching:Man Arrested

A 30-year-old man was arrested by the Fort police on Wednesday in connection with a snatching case. The arrested has been identified as Muhammed Ismail.

According to the police, the accused had, on December 9, snatched a five-sovereign chain belonging to one Gomathy, a restaurant owner. Following her complaint, the police were searching for Ismail, who had been absconding after the incident.

The accused was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
