14-year-old Samskruthy Shenoy vows that acting is the only career she has ever aspired. And it seems the lovely school girl is on the right track having bagged films in three different languages in a row already. As ‘Black Butterfly’, the first Malayalam film of Samskruthy is garnering positive reviews from theatres, she says, “Everyone says I am fortunate, and I am immensely happy the way my career graph is shaping.”

Samskruthy plays Arathi, a city-bred plus-two student who has moved to the city with her parents in ‘Black Butterfly’, an intriguing tale on young love, trust and betrayal. The girl falls for one of her neighbours and the story is what happens to her and others.

Speaking about the role, Samskruthy says, “These days, we read in newspapers on a daily basis about traps in the guise of love. This film which speaks about true love and the conceited version, therefore has much relevance in the present scenario.”

Samskruthy says she had a gala time shooting for the film with youngsters of her age around. “We roamed around, pulling each others legs. And seniors like Azhakappan sir (cinematographer) and Ranjith sir (director M Ranjith) were greatly supportive.”

A class 9 student at Saraswathi Vidya Niketan School, Kochi, Samskruthy is a trained dancer. From the childhood she has been learning Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam and western dance from Thandav Dance School. She entered the world of glitz as a model of Lukmance Model Management agency. Her debut movie was a Telugu flick, ‘Hrudayam Ekkadunnadi’ that will be released next month. And her next outing is an untitled Tamil film produced by actor Saritha, in which she will play a girl-next-door role.

“Learning new language is a pastime for me, and therefore I am enjoying doing movies in other language,” says Samskruthy. The bubbly girl who loves variety in acting is planning to take a short break next year owing to board exams.
