The city police on Tuesday questioned Sun TV news editor Raja following charges of sexual harassment at the workplace. A case under Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act was registered against him after a newsreader petitioned City Police Commissioner S George.

A resident of Aminjikarai, the 28-year-old  alleged that Raja had been forcing her to slog it out in the early morning slots since she rejected his sexual advances.

“I was made to do that shift frequently. When I went to Raja to take up the issue, he insisted on persisting with it till I compromised. He also warned that I could lose the job if I raked up the matter,” she said in her petition.

The newsreader also alleged that Raja pestered her to talk to him late at night and text him after office hours. Besides, Raja’s aide Vetrivendan tried to persuade her to give in so as to enjoy salary perks, she claimed. After photos of Vetrivendan allegedly caught in a compromising position with other newsreaders got leaked, Raja transferred him, she charged.

Along with her petition, she submitted voice recordings and snaps of Vetrivendan ‘caught in the act’.
