An Armed Reserve police constable was beaten up by policemen and Samikyandhra employees at the ‘Save Andhra Pradesh’ public meeting at LB Stadium here on Saturday for raising Jai Telangana slogan.

The victim, K Srinivasa Goud, alleged in his complaint to the Saifabad police that as he was on security duty inside the LB Stadium, the speaker on the dais kept “humiliating” Telangana Thalli and Telangana leaders by using abusive language.

Unable to bear the invectives being heaped on the Telangana leaders he said he had raised Jai Telangana slogan only once. Immediately, Seemandhra employees who were around him, beat him up. They were joined by ther policemen on duty at the stadium.

According to Goud, another AR constable, Srisailam, went to his rescue but he too was thrashed. Later they were taken outside, Goud said. Srinivasa Goud sought action against the policemen and the Seemandhra employees who beat him up. The Saifabad police however did not register any case.
