Bangaloreans are in for colder days with fog. The city was engulfed by thick fog on Wednesday morning and according to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) officials, this would continue for the next couple of days.

The mist was witnessed on Wednesday morning between 4.30 and 7.50 am in Yelahanka, BIAL and HAL Airport with a minimum temperature of 16 degrees Celsius.

The HAL recorded a temperature of 14.8 degrees Celsius. “The fog would occur in some areas during morning hours for the next few days. The minimum temperature would be around 15 degree Celsius,” B Puttanna, Director In-charge, IMD, said.

“Fog filled streets in Bangalore. What an absolute pleasure to drive in such conditions. Reminded me of Toronto winter mornings,” said a user on a social media site.

Heavy fog at the Bangalore International Airport resulted in delays of 11 arriving and 22 departing flights on Wednesday.

The delays, according to BIAL officials, were in the range of 15 minutes to one hour. Two flights were diverted to Chennai due to heavy fog between 5 and 7.30 am.

Meanwhile, Chamarajanagar recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 13.8 degree Celsius and the minimum temperatures fell at many places over interior Karnataka and they changed little in coastal areas.
