KOCHI: The Paravoor sex scandal victim was ‘sold’ to customers like in a slave trade. Documents in possession of Express reveal that the victim deposed before the officials that she was virtually sold to customers by an agent for about Rs1 lakh after a lot of bargaining.
“An agent Subaida used to show me to customers after removing my dress; then she will go on bargaining like it’s a small girl, and it’s her first time and so on. She had taken up to Rs1 lakh from some people,” she said, adding, she once made a suicide attempt jumping in front of a bus.
The 16-year-old deposed that one day she was abused by as many as nine people while studying in Class X at the age of 14.
“My father threw me into the flesh market after threatening my mother. It happened when I was studying in Class X. My father used to take me away for days and he informed my teacher that I had urinary problems and hence cannot attend school.
“I was totally depressed for days and thought about suicide. Once I even jumped in front of a bus, but the driver stopped the bus and scolded me,” she said.
As per her deposition, the first incident took place in 2010. Sudheer, the victim’s father and the prime accused, took her to a hotel room in Ernakulam on May 3, 2010, on the pretext of an interview for a role in a film. She was presented to a man who sexually abused her.
After a week, she was taken to many flats in and around Ernakulam. She was abused in houses and hotels in Kadavanthra, Palarivattom, Thammanam, Kakkanad, Chalakudy, Athirappilly, Munnar, Thrissur, Mapranam, Parassala, Thiruvananthapuram, Kannur, Bangalore, Mysore, Chennai, Ootty and Coimbatore.
“If there were classes after 4 pm, my father would take me somewhere on his bike. I studied at a school at North Paravoor,” she said.
“At Munnar three boys - Chins, Manu, Renjith - together abused me. A film director raped me brutally at a flat in Ernakulam,” she said.
Seenath, Khadeeja, Jessy, Beena and Omana were the main agents who sold the girl to customers.
Two more girls were abused in her presence with the connivance of their parents and relatives, she added.
